The year 2012 marks my 10-th year of staying in Singapore. It has been long and the place has become more than a transit lounge.

My friend, who came to visit Singapore just for a few days, said: “Singapore is different. It’s not like Europe, but it’s not like Asia countries such as China, Japan, or Korea neither”. His comment struck me for a while. Probably I was getting used to the scenes and did not notice.

In such a small island, nature scenes have been combined with the modern cityscape in order to maintain the balance. There are no magnificent mountains, lakes or long beach as ones often admire, but rather the intertwined landscape of Singapore and the different races makes it so intrigued.
